The endless Depth of Greed

Updated: Nov 18

Everyone is affected by the power of greed. Sorrow and pain come with lying. The more you get, the more you will want. There is nothing wrong with wanting to have the best things in life. The Word of God warns us about the love of money. Money is a seed that produces a root that leads to destruction. I Timothy 6:10, "For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows."

Greed is not only tangible; it is also spiritual. Greed is a seed that produces many fruits. Strife, envy, and jealousy are some of the effects. Selfishness and jealousy will consume the mightiest of men.

Judas Iscariot was one of the disciples of Jesus Christ. His greed was his downfall. He betrayed Christ. Selfishness was the motive. When you get more than you can handle, it can cause you to self-destruct. Judas had no idea that his actions would cost him his life. We should never bite more than we can chew. Greed goes beyond measure.
