As a Christian, you should have a desire to be Christ-like. There are so many idols in the world people will do anything to be idolized or to be like the one they love. If you say you love Jesus, you should want to be just like Him. Saying it is one thing, but doing it is another. Men don't want to be like Christ because you must bear your cross. Then there is Gethsemane, a place of agony, not a place of rest and peace, but a place of suffering. Christ lived to please God; we must have the same desire. We can not be like Him without becoming a new creature that God creates in us by faith. Then, we can begin to think with the mind of Christ. We must learn to love with the heart of Christ. Then it is not you, but Christ in you. The world knows about a man named Jesus who died on the cross. As far as they are concerned, He is still dead. Unless Christ becomes ACTIVE in your life, He is dead to you. You must let Christ become active in your life. Or you are dead in your sins. The world does not believe in the teaching or the atoning work of Jesus Christ. If you're not a believer, you can't be like Jesus. When we are born again, we are changed to be like Christ. By the gift of the Holy Spirit, we become spiritual. We must be careful of what we say and what we do. In the bible (KJV), Ephesians 4:22-24, "That you put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness." Jesus came into this world with a desire to fulfill the will of God and to redeem everyone. Our desire should be to follow Christ (bear our cross). Jesus always prayed and we must pray. Prayer will allow you to grow spiritually. My WORK and Your WORK must represent Christ in our daily walk. If we allow sin to be active in our lives, sin hinders the power to become effective witnesses. Your WALK and My WALK should glorify the Name of Jesus! People see the Light of Christ in us. Walk represents what we say. Work represents what we do. When we contact others, it should impact their lives so that they would like to be like Christ. To be like Jesus is to do the Will of God and to GLORIFY the Father and no other.
