The miracle of Christmas has been tainted by commercialism and the “wish upon a star theory.” The greatest news on earth should be the most joyous occasion. Christ is God’s gift to all mankind everywhere, peace on earth and glad tidings. Wise men have been waiting and seeking the coming of the Messiah down through the ages. The bible teaches that Christ came through forty-two generations. St. Mathew 1:16-17, “And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ. So all of the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ fourteen generations.” There was nothing magical about the coming of Jesus Christ and His supernatural birth. The good news is that Christ was born of the power of the Holy Spirit (The Word of God became flesh), for all of God’s people to see and rejoice. God our Redeemer is come to save mankind from his sins. In the bible (KJV), St. Matthew 1:21, “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.” Don’t get caught up on the magic of Christmas and the fellow in the red suit with a bag of toys. These things are the temporal things of life, they will pass away. Santa brings one day of gifts and a lifetime of debt. Christ brings the gift of eternal life to all that believe. Your desire should not be about what you want, but it should be about what God wants for you. You must learn the difference in life in the flesh and the difference in life in the spirit. Christ must become the CENTER of your LIFE so that you can experience the fullness of His joy. Christmas is a time of reflection of the great work of God and a time for thanksgiving. The joy of GIVING ought to supersede the joy of RECEIVING. The joy of this world will pass away, but the gift of God will last forever. When we become Christ-Like our minds and our hearts much change. Then we should be more concerned about pleasing God and becoming a part of the Gospel Work of Christ. We must have the desire to become GIVERS and spread the Good News throughout the world. The sacrifice of love is the greatest gift that you can give or receive. Be sure to keep Christ in your Christmas and see the Glory of God for yourself. Give love at all cost; even to those that don’t love you. Love conquers all! We have the victory in Christ the Lord…
