The Venom of a Lie!

The venom of a lie is more deadly than any viper or cobra. The poison of a snake bite will only kill the body, but the venom of a LIE WILL KILL THE SOUL. A great number of people have lost their lives because of a lie. The lie has caused so many to self-destruct, destroying homes and relationships. As deadly as venom is, there are some good factors present. Within venom, you can find the ANTIDOTE, which counteracts the effects of a POISON! Sin is poison, and it will kill your soul. To LIE is an attempt to deceive; passing a lie off as the truth. It’s counterfeiting; it’s an imposter. It’s sin, and confession is the antidote for SIN! And the TRUTH is the ANTIDOTE for a LIE! If you do not accept the truth, you deceive yourself. What makes a lie so deadly? Words are spiritual, and what you say will always exist. Each lie spoken into existence will never die, but its power is deadly. If you don’t know the truth, you cannot discern lies. Jesus teaches a lesson about the adversary (devil) and his lies. In the bible, study St. John chapter 8 to get a clear understanding of where lies come from. In verses 44-45, “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.” Lies are the work of the devil, and you become suspect when you will not believe the truth. Dirty hands produce unclean work! Lying comes naturally; no one has to teach you how to lie, but you must be taught to tell the truth. A little white lie has the same impact as a big lie, and a half-truth is a WHOLE LIE. God made a way for every man to overcome the devil and his lies. We can find peace in the words of Christ when He said, “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” We are all liars by nature, but the Lord Jesus Christ paid the price for every sinner. I John 1:8-10, “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.” Then the question is asked, “Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is an’-ti-christ, that denieth the Father and the Son.” Read your bible and know the truth and the truth shall make you free.
