The Things People Say

Be aware of the untrue things people say. People say things that sound good. We repeat them when we hear things like, I've been to hell and back is false. Hell has an entrance and no exit. Or I've been through hell. You don't go through hell. You can only go to hell. Once you get there, you are there to stay. We should make sure we stick with the truth. A half-truth is a whole lie. One of the most popular sayings is prayer changes things. Prayer does not change things; it changes the people who pray.

Testimonies should encourage us to do better. The struggles you have overcome should encourage me in my time of trouble. Giving up is not an option. We must learn to trust God to give us direction. Don't worry about what people say. We should know and do what the Bible commands us to do. Jesus taught that "man should live by every word which proceeds out the mouth of God."

Choose to do what is right. The influence of others can destroy your hope. Keep the faith; study the Word of God. And you will not go astray.
