The Great Pretender

Deception is common everywhere you go. Motive is the driving force. People who pretend to have less than they have are no better than those who have plenty and lie about it. Acting is pretending to be a character in a production. You know that the person is not who they are portraying. Sometimes, we act out of character.

Lying destroys your accountability and makes you untrustworthy. When you lie to someone, you admit you are beneath whoever you are lying to.

Be a number one yourself and not be a number two of someone else. Work to establish yourself. It's not what you say but what you do. I am who I am because I know who I belong to. Pretentious Christians profess to be Christ-like, but their actions deny their claim. They claim to give when they are takers. Selfishness is the motive of pretenders. When you know who you are, you don't have to pretend to be something you're not.
