The psalmist encourages all believers to not worry about the workers of evil. It is easy to say don’t worry, but it is a challenge to do it. Worrying is a part of our self-defense, it causes you to act or react. When you are faced with something that you have no control over, then you will search for a reason or a solution. In this 37th number of psalm, David assures the people of God to not fret nor worry when evildoers prosper in their ways. Then he gives some good advice, when he says “neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.” God is in control, there is no need to worry. Because they have only a short time before they are cut down. Then the psalmist encourages us to TRUST in the Lord, DELIGHT in the Lord and COMMIT to the Lord. We must realize that this is the work of the Lord Jesus Christ. When you trust Christ, He will show you a delightful experience of His love. There is nothing like the love of God! Jesus was committed to pleasing God and we must have the same desire. When you come to Jesus for Salvation, He will lead you on the path of rightness for His Name sake. Christ invites all men to come out of DARKNESS into the MARVELOUS LIGHT. Men reject Jesus because they don’t want to let go of this world and commit to the work of righteous. Men love darkness rather than light, because the light will expose their works of evil. Don’t be distracted by the work of evil. Let your light shine before men so that God may get the glory. Then Jesus declares that, “Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Every man must repent of his sins and except Christ as Savior. Without the new birth and a change of heart, you cannot follow Jesus. You cannot follow Christ in the flesh (as a natural man); you must become spiritual. A change of heart must happen before you can travel the path of righteous. Jesus not only invites us to follow Him, in the bible (KJV), St. Luke 9:23, “And he said unto them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.” We must become SELFLESS and enter the suffering of Christ. There are no short cuts and there is no turning back if you love Him. Get ready for your midnight hour at Gethsemane (a place and time of agony). Christ encourages His disciples to WATCH and PRAY. In the mist of your midnight hour you must pray to overcome temptation and sin. You will not experience the joy of Christ without overcoming your sin. Sin will hinder your walk with God and it will affect your faith. Always remember to trust the Lord and He shall see you through. God rewards faithfulness; if you remain faithful you will receive a reward…
Happy Thanksgiving to all. May God bless you to appreciate the love of Christ.
