Christ the Solid Rock

A blueprint is necessary to build a house. A house without a foundation will not last. A home without love is like a house with holes in the roof. Patches will last for a while; temporary solutions are not the answer.

Jesus Christ is the foundation on which we can build our lives. The process begins when we accept Christ as our personal Savior. Our relationship becomes spiritual. By the regeneration of the Holy Spirit, we are born again. The new life in the Spirit is to become Christ-like. Denominations and religiosity are like the motion of the ocean. No Substance! Christ said, "Upon this rock, I build my church, the gates of hell shall not previle against it." Jesus Christ is our foundation for a successful spiritual life. We should be careful of what we build on that foundation. Sin causes the house to fall.

In the Bible, I Corinthians 3:11-15,

"For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stone, wood, hay, stubble; Every man's work shall be manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so by fire."

Gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, and stubble are building materials. The foundation is ready; make a choice. A wise man will use solid materials that will not burn. Fire will reveal your choice. Wood, hay, and stubble are for building shacks. The wrong materials will burn. You will not lose your salvation, but you can lose your reward.
