Opinions are a dime a dozen; everyone has one. Be aware of the opinions of others. Manipulation becomes the motive of opinion. It is often called friendly advice. When you hear the phrase, "If I were you," be aware of the manipulation. People can always tell you what is best for you. You should always retain the right to say no to unwanted advice.
Listening to popular demand can be ok at times. Do what is right for you; it's your decision.
Be wise in your endeavors, and be honest. Wise people sometimes make foolish decisions. Hope is the key to a happy life. When we trust God, we can follow His directions. The Spirit of God draws us to Jesus Christ. It is the Holy Spirit who convicts us of the sin of unbelief. We must believe that Jesus is the righteousness of God. In the Bible, I John 1:8-10. "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us."Trust the Lord and do what is right. Love everyone and keep the faith.
