Whitewashing History

Whitewashing the past will not erase the actions done to hurt people, not only as a nation but as individuals as well. People want you to forget what they have said and done as if it never happened. Cover-up is the motive. A lie will never replace the truth. Truth is the foundation of righteousness. You deceive yourself if you think righteousness has a substitute. Distractions keep you from seeing the truth. Misrepresenting the truth is whitewashing. Illusions are like counterfeiting; It looks real. Telling you what you see is not really there is an attempt to deceive. The truth is authentic!

The devil is a counterfeiter, making a lie look like the truth and the truth look like a lie. A leader ought not to whitewash and water down the truth. A half-truth is a whole lie. The truth exposes all unrighteousness. Only the Word of God is true.

Whitewashing will not cover up sin, nor self-righteousness. Sin is the history of man. No sin goes unpaid for. The blood of Jesus Christ washes and cleanses the believer of sin. God would accept no other sacrifice. Your righteousness is not sufficient to please God. Confession of your sin is acceptable. David the psalmist confessed, "Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin." God hears our cry for mercy. "But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children;" The day of reckoning will come, and God will recompense the wicked. Their deeds shall judge them.
