Every year at Christmas, we all look for something that we want. No matter how much we would get, we always hoped for more. The miracle of giving is far from us, we think that we should always receive. We must remember that God gave the world what no one else could. This gift is manifested in His Son Jesus Christ. There is no greater love than the gift of a Savior to a wicked people and a wicked world. You can give and not love but you can’t love and not give. God has not forgotten His people and He will not forget you. In the bible St. Luke 2:10-11, “And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.” The Word of God inspires us first, to not be afraid, but be willing to accept the good news of great joy that Christ has come to save His people from their sins. Then you must personalize this good news because it is for you. Christ must become your personal Savior. The joy of the good news is that God does for us what we can’t do for ourselves, even though we don’t deserve it. There are three things that you must understand about the coming of Christ. 1. The Annunciation, 2. The Proclamation and 3. Invitation.
In the sixth month the angel Gabriel came to a virgin name Mary, saying unto her, “Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favor with God. And behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus.” The proclamation is that God, our Redeemer has given us a Savior. By the power of the Holy Spirit, we must become witnesses proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ to a dying world. We must let the world know that Jesus Christ is our hope. Salvation is the free gift of God extended to all men everywhere. The great invitation is found in St. Matthew 11:28-30, “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls." For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Accept Christ into your life and receive your free gift of salvation…
