The Lord's Prayer and Your Prayer

Jesus often taught His followers about the importance of prayer. A good prayer life is good for the soul; and a great way to start every day. There are two types of prayer: The Lord's prayer and your prayer, the prayer that reaches God and the prayer that is void. Prayer has a lot to do with MOTIVE. Do you talk to God on a need-to-basis or do you talk to Him all the time (daily)? It does make a difference. Sunday morning prayer and "I am in trouble" prayer won't get the job done. The more we pray in life, the less sin we have in our lives. Your sin will hinder your prayers. I have found out that Prayer will make a man cease sin, or sin will entice a man to cease prayer. If you have sinned all night; you don’t feel like praying. And if you have prayed all day, you don't have a desire to sin. Sin comes from a desire within. It is the same with prayer; it is the desire to commune with God. Man's appetite for sin is unquenchable! It is a desire that is never satisfied. The only way to overcome sin is through PRAYER and by the Blood of Jesus. Let's learn more about the two prayers: the sinner’s prayer and the saints’ prayer. The sinner's prayer should be "Lord SAVE ME," and the saint's prayer should be "Lord HELP ME." In the bible (KJV), read St. Matthew 6:5-13. Jesus teaches His disciples the difference between the prayer of a hypocrite and the prayer of a saint. Verse 5, "And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are; for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward." Then Jesus teaches them about praying to God in secret and in humility. If we pray in secret to God, He will reward us openly. When we spend Private Time with God, He will give us Public Power. Verse 7, "But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathens do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking." It is not how much you say to God, but how sincere you are about what you say. God hears all prayers, and He has three answers. 1. YES, it is in His will, and the timing is right. God gives us our heart's desire according to His will. 2. NO, it could be something that we do not need, or we can't handle what we asked for. But when He says no, there is comfort of the Holy Spirit. 3. WAIT, it’s not time yet. Then we must learn to wait on God. He knows what's right for us. Let us learn to trust God, for there is none like Him. God wants you to depend on Him. God is able to supply all of our needs.
