The Game of Life

You will lose sight of the goal when you compete for something that you can't win. You might be "in it to win it" but not in the Kingdom of God. Salvation is free to all who believe and accept Christ as their personal Savior. The work of saving mankind belongs to God in the person of Jesus Christ. There is no other name given under heaven whereby men might be saved. At the name of Jesus Christ, every knee shall bow, and every tongue shall confess that Jesus is Lord. The world is a place of competition, and the losers outnumber the winners. In the world, everything is competition (a game). There are so many losers because the players do not understand why or how the game works. The game was designed to consume the players. Each player (person) must bring something (one soul) to be a part of the game (life). In the competition, there are many from all walks of life. If you play a game, you know the rules, or you will lose. We were all taught that "if you play with fire, you will get burned," so you must learn to avoid the fire. On the devil's playground, you may play for fun, but the devil plays for keeps. The soul you bring to the game is for keeps; if you lose your soul, it is lost forever. If you gain the world and lose your soul, what will you have? Even if you own the largest and most expensive mansion in the world, you can only be in one room at a time. You may own ten cars, but you can only drive one at a time. When you try to "keep up with the Joneses, you lose sight of your goals." The Joneses will tell you, "I got mine, now get yours." To whom much is given, much is required. When you get rich by cheating, robbing, and stealing, you will have to pay more than you stole. The children of obedience (the church) ought not compete with the children of disobedience (the world), because of righteousness. The child of God must choose to do that which is right at all costs. The people of the world are not doing right. They will do anything to win. RULES are nothing to the world, "they make the rules, and they break the rules." Yeah, I know that's not fair. But that's life, and life is not fair, so get over it! It is shameful when people compete for positions in the Church. I'm not talking about positions in the choir or the deacon board. I am talking about the Body of Christ. We are members of One Lord, One Faith, and One Baptism. We must realize that we serve God through Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit. God must get the glory for all that we do. Heaven is our goal! We must let the things of the world go. If you desire to be great in the Kingdom of God, do the work of an evangelist, be honest and loving, and follow Christ.
