Know the Truth about Christ and His Work

It's a real problem when we say we understand, and we really don't have a clue what is going on. When you don't understand, ASK and seek to find answers. As human beings, we are terrified of the unknown and what we can't see. However, hope and faith are what are needed to understand many unexplainable things. We can hear and feel the wind blow, but we don't know where it comes from or where it's going. We had no idea when we would be born, and we have no idea when we are going to die. We try to understand life, but at the same time, we want to ignore death. Christ taught His disciples many times that He would suffer and be killed by sinful men. However, it did not sink in to their minds. They heard with their ears but did not understand with their hearts. When Christ was crucified and buried, His disciples thought that the Kingdom of God had come to an end. They feared for their lives because they had no understanding of what was about to happen. They did not understand that Christ had to suffer a physical death before He could become victorious over the enemy. Jesus had to die so that we could receive eternal life (the Kingdom of God). But their minds were on an earthly kingdom, and they were focused on only what they could see and what they thought. Read St John 12.

"Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out. And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. This he said, signifying what death he should die." People will react to what you say to them before they hear the whole story. Then in verse 34. "The people answered him, We have heard of the law that Christ abideth for ever: and how sayest thou, The Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man?" Now this lesson is about, "if you don't know, PRAY for an understanding." There is a reason why these people did not understand what Christ was teaching them. They did not realize that they were in darkness in their minds and in their hearts. Verse 35, "Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth."

After all of the miracles that Christ did in their lives, THEY DID NOT BELIEVE Him. Now you must ask yourself the question. Do you believe? Or do you understand what Christ has done for you? These are the same people who were with Jesus when He raised Lazarus from the dead. They saw Lazarus sitting at the dinner table, and some of them still did not believe. Isaiah the prophet never saw Jesus, but he spoke the words saying, St John 12:38, b-40, "Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed? Therefore, they could not believe, because that Isaiah said again, “He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them." When you pray, believe, and have faith that God will reveal to you what you have a desire to know. Learn how to pray in the power of the Holy Spirit, and you will understand with your heart.
