Behind the Mask, Is that You?

Christians ought not have to wear a mask to be in the world. If you are ashamed of Christ, He will be ashamed of you. We are called out of the world to go back into the world as the children of God. There is no need to pretend and no reason to lie. You are still you but with a different way of seeing things and a new way of thinking. When you refuse to let the world go, then you want to put on the mask. A mask can only hide the face. You can change the color and paint over the stripes of a tiger and put spots on it to make it look like a leopard, but it is still a tiger. If you cannot change the nature of something, it's still the same. People are the same; a change must happen on the inside. When we are born again, God gives us a new nature so that we don't have to wear a mask. Hiding behind a mask will not conceal who you are. People who know you recognize your ways. When you wear your mask, you are only fooling yourself. Peter, one of the Lord's most outspoken disciples, found out that you can fit in with the crowd, but you can't hide what God has done for you. When you put on your mask, you deny that you know Christ. And someone is always willing to point you out.
Why hide the fact that the Word of God has caused you to change? Your old friends don't want to drink and party with you because you are not the same. YOU CAN'T DO IT LIKE YOU USED TO! They don't like the new you. Every born-again Christian ought to be able to say, "I've been CHANGED." And pull off the mask of deception. Some people want to put on the mask of Christianity. They dress up and look nice on the outside, but on the inside, they are raving wolves. Being nice will not get it. When someone makes you mad, you can't kill them. When you see something that doesn't belong to you, you cannot take it just because no one is looking. Your real nature (real you) will show up.
