A Life Time Commitment

Posted on August 14, 2021 at 2:15 PM

A lifetime commitment is not only in a marriage but in a life of Christian work. Good work ethics and conviction are the foundation of a lifetime commitment. We should live life in the joy of the Lord. When we set goals, the Lord will help us by the power of the Holy Spirit. There are long-term goals and short-term goals. Staying focus is the key to reaching every goal. By the power of the Holy Spirit, we can live a victorious life. When we let the Spirit of God comfort us, Christ leads us in the path of righteousness. Obedience and total submission to Christ is the beginning of a committed life. When we are disobedient, we live a defeated life. Christians have the power to overcome the obstacles that invade your life. A good prayer life is a must. You cannot be victorious without prayer. God gives us the strength and power to be effective witnesses. Your testimony will help someone come to Christ. Christ promised us the abundant life, a life of sacrifice and service. A sacrificial life is a gift from God. It is not always about giving more money but giving of yourself. We must share our TIME, TALENT, and TREASURE. Make a life Time Commitment to the purpose and Will of God.

Up and Out of the Gutter

Posted on July 6, 2021 at 11:05 PM

Being in the gutter is no fun nor a place anyone would like to be. Life in the ghetto is hard, but there are many ways out. Hard work and a made-up mind will prevail. Many feel trapped in the ghetto and stay there by choice. Being in the gutter is likely not your choice, but you find yourself there. There are many reasons why people find themselves in this lonely place. The use of Alcohol, Drugs, Laziness, Mental Illness will strip you of your life. Hope and the mercy of God will free every soul trapped in the gutter. If you want God to do something, you must be willing to do something. Praying is not enough; there must be some action on your part. Prayer does not change things. Prayer changes the person that prays. If you pray, you will receive the power to change whatever you are going through. Let me make myself clear. It takes faith and prayer to work. Jesus Christ is still working miracles. Your situation is not too big nor too hard for Him. God will rescue you at the right time. God has a plan for your life. When you accept Jesus as your personal Savior, you are ready to be delivered up and out of the gutter. The Word of God frees us of sin and all traps that bind us. Remember, the devil's trap is always waiting on your return.

Only God can Heal a Broken Heart

Posted on June 25, 2021 at 2:05 AM

There is medicine for just about every ailment that you can imagine. But there is no medicine for a broken heart. Science has no known cure nor a suggestion for mending a broken heart. The heart is the center of life. The heart is the house of emotions and the pleasure center of the brain. A broken heart is not easy to overcome. There are two reasons that I looked at that are hard to get over. 1. GRIEF and (2.) DISAPPOINTMENT. Grief is so heavy at times it seems like that is no relief. Loneliness makes grief comes in so many forms. No one can have all of the answers to every question. Grief is something that everyone goes through at one time or another. In my experience, little children are sad and don't understand why. The pain is sometimes unbearable. God knows our pain. He can heal every broken heart. When we learn to put our trust in God, our disappointments and sorrow will have become joy. A great passage of scripture is in the bible, Psalms 147:3 "He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds." In your time of grief and turn to God. He is merciful.

Are you mad at God?

Posted on June 8, 2021 at 1:50 AM

Being mad God will not change anything. You are not smart enough to council God nor loud enough to get His attention. Check yourself! Are you mad because of the way things are going in your life? God is not the blame for you being in jail today. You must be responsible for your actions. It was God that told you not to steal, but you did it anyway. Now you want to blame God for all of your troubles. It's your choice. Sometimes we want to make the best decision for our lives. The best decision is not always the right decision. God smiles upon us when we choose to do that which is right. Doing right is a start to getting over your madness. Approach God with the right motive. Be humble because you don't want God mad at you. Your actions can change the way you feel about God. Correct your mistakes and look forward. God loves us and forgives us when confessing our faults. Being mad is the wrong attitude. Let joy be a comfort in knowing that we can overcome our madness and trust God. He has the power to turn your life around. Be thankful and glad for another day.

Criminal Intent

Posted on May 29, 2021 at 2:25 PM

I hope that you know the story of how Judas betrayed the Lord Jesus. The bible gives an account of how Judas sold the Lord out for thirty pieces of silver. Judas had a problem with greed. Greed will cause you to have criminal intentions; ambition was the driving force behind Judas's greed and criminal intent. When criminal acts are done toward innocent people, it's never justifiable. Judas had a position within the group of twelve. His position as treasurer caused him to puff himself up. Don't you know some people whose ambition is bigger than their position? In the church, if you receive an appointment of leadership, you should not look for the pastor to work with you but you should be able to work with the pastor. The pastor is the leader and you should follow his instructions. We must learn that leadership is ACTION and not a position. Judas was not an effective leader. He was greedy and selfish.

There are consequences for criminal actions. The bible teaches that after Judas had received his pay for his dirty deed, he was not happy. He returned to the crime scene and tried to undo the crime. Read Matthews 27:3-5 and see what happened to Judas. Now he admits that he was wrong and tries to (repent) give the money back. Then he goes out and hangs himself. When you have a Judas in your life, be aware of the "Judas Kiss of betrayal." Judas' purpose was not about money, it was about shedding innocent blood. Remember you don't have to kill Judas, he will kill himself.

Are you happy with who you are?

Posted on May 18, 2021 at 10:50 AM

Most people are not happy with themselves. They let social media and television dictate how they should look and act. You can change some traits but your DNA is still the same. Some people have a real problem, they look good on the outside but the inside of their heart is full of darkness. You can know what is on the inside of the heart by listening to the mouth. The mouth speaks the things that are in the heart. Action speaks louder than words. We all need BALANCE in our lives. Only Christ the Lord can give us the balance that makes us a better person. You are made whole by the power of Christ. If you want to change, be born again and become spiritual. You will receive the power to become Christ-like. Be mindful of the Potter and remember you are the clay. When you say "make me and mold me into what you would have me be," they are your words. You can not instruct God how to make you. A building doesn't tell the builder what it should be. If you have a sin-sick soul, you should seek deliverance. God is waiting to heal you and make you according to His will. Sometimes it's not what you think. God has a perfect plan for you and a great life; when we are obedient to His Word. Be happy with who you are.

Be prepared for a surprise attack

Posted on May 5, 2021 at 2:00 PM

Surprise attacks are not always defensive. You must prepare to make an offensive move on the enemy at all times. Being ready is the key to winning the battle. The best defense is a prepared offense. War-fair is something that we all must face in our Christian walk. Being a Christian does not exempt you from the wiles of the devil. The devil's motto and slogan, "never let them see you coming." You must learn some of the tricks of the devil. Since you can't see the devil, you must recognize his works. Lies are one of his greatest weapons. He specializes in making the wrong things look right and the right things look wrong. Deception is always the motive. But when you put on the whole armor of God you can fight a good fight. The first order of defense is to become spiritual. 2. This is a spiritual war-fair and you need a proper uniform. 3. Your defense is Christ the Lord. Christ has already won the war against the devil. We have to win battles. It is a good thing to plan a suprise attack on the work of evil. When you take a stand against sin, you can win souls for Christ. The Christians' main objective is to be a witness for Christ. Being a good witness makes a good soldier. A good soldier that's filled with the Holy Spirit will overcome sin and the devil. Things may be going great in life right now; be careful the devil got his eyes on you.

How Sweet it is to be Loved by God

Posted on April 23, 2021 at 11:10 PM

The soul hunger and thirst for love. There is an inter-need for the love of the Creator. God's love is unconditional. It is a love that will not fail. I say that because we are failures when it comes to love. Giving and Forgiving is the foundation of love. The bible teaches us that God gave His Son to die for our sins. While we were sinners, Christ died for the just and the unjust. The unconditional love of Christ forgives man and every one of their sin. Knowing that God loves us is not enough; we must believe with our hearts and be born again and become spiritual. Love is the foundation of SPIRITUALITY. If you are not spiritual your love is called infatuation. An infatuation is a form of deception. It looks like love, it fills like love but in its true nature it is lust. We can not love God with fake love. God knows our hearts. We must do everything in our power to please God. The psalmist said it best when he said, "O taste and see that the Lord is good and blessed is the man that trusteth in Him." The sweetness of God's love is the unmerited favor that He shows the sinner. We don't deserve His love. The bible gives us proof, (KJV) read Romans 8:37-39. Nothing can separate the believer from the sweet love of God.

Don't approach God FOOLISHLY

Posted on April 2, 2021 at 10:00 AM

Don't make the mistake of approaching God with a bad attitude and with the wrong motive. God is not your homeboy and He is not a figure of your imagination. God is a consuming Spirit with all power. When you approach Him, humble yourself, do it in the Name of His Son Jesus Christ. Sometimes we do things that we don't understand. As I studied the book of Job, I found out that no matter what be sincere about what you say to God. Job was a man of great substance and the bible says that he lost it all in one day. But he never charged God foolishly. In the bible, Job 1:21 "And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord." After Job lost everything, verse 22 says, "In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly." Can you bless God when things are not going well in your life? You must understand that God does as it pleases Him. You can humble yourself and be blessed in the name of Jesus or you can miss out on what God has for you. Jesus taught men should always pray and not faint. And whatsoever we desire, ask in His name. We must believe in our hearts that God loves us and He can keep us from the destruction of the wicked one. Then God RESTORES you inwardly by the new birth in Christ and He gives you more substance than you ever had. Trust God, He is ABLE!

Try God! Give God a CHANCE

Posted on March 21, 2021 at 10:15 PM

Psalm 34:8 "O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in Him. "

Everyone remembers God in the time of trouble. When you try to work things out on your own, they sometimes get worst. When you can't handle it Let GO and Let God. God has all power to see you through whatever you are going through.

Our text encourages us to try God and see what will happen. There is a RESULTS for giving God a chance. You will experience the goodness of the Lord that you will never forget. Your experience with God becomes your testimony. Your life is your testimony. You can truly say that the love of God is the greatest of anything you ever tried. And the reward is being blessed for trusting God. We have learned to depend on God for our safety and for the things that are needed. As you trust God your relationship should grow to a fellowship.

Psalm 121:1 says "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help." When you look, make sure you 1. Look back and thank God for all of the great things He has done for you. 2. Look forward and trust God for making a way out of no way. Christ is our hope. 3. Look around and serve God. We go to church to worship God and depart to serve by being a witness. 4. Look within and find God. God is closer than we think, all we have to do is call upon His Holy and Righteous Name. He will hear you cry. Try God! Give Him a Chance.
